AWESOME. Hows the lake temp in the summer, hmm? It's a deep one right? I can't imagine it's too toasty.

Love your pics, very stokeworthy!

yep, that next step is a ride to the bottom. crater lake is fairly popular, with the road to the rim open year around barring heavy snowstorms. most "touristas" are within spitting distance of the 'mall'. more snowshoers than skiers these days and most have no clue that they are standing on an overhanging cornice getting their selfie shot.

yes, deep waters (1946 ft). surface water is refreshing, your chest will seize up when you dive off the rock bluffs....
awesome place. i'll see if i can dig out some pics of winter camping on the rim under a full moon.

Jack, beautiful shot, happy to hear you finally have snow. Hope you get out and enjoy it. I'm sure we would all enjoy seeing some S S S photos, although I'm not one to talk. All my photos are in my head where I am the only one who can see them. I don't know how old I need to be before I will start taking photos. I stop and enjoy the view, and even compose photos in my mind. I think it is that it is difficult to shoot the grandeur I see on a point and shoot or an IPhone. Although the composition of your shot was a work of art, and possibly done on just such equipment? I guess I spend my money on skis and gas, someday maybe.
Hey JT, where are you getting snow?
