Know The Code
Check out the contents of the rack shown at 2:48. What resort is this at?

Re: Know The Code
Well, the scenery looks like Colorado and in the beginning of the vid there are two trail signs for "Sundance" and "High Noon" which are at A-Basin. The "Mercury Superchair" at 3:15 is at Breck.
Unfortunately, that awesome rack appears to be a still picture, and since it appears at the "always use devices to help runaway equipment" line, it could be from anywhere. I ALMOST think those are deciduous trees in the background, which makes me think something out east, (like Mt. Abrams where there is that Telemark East festival...?)
Short answer: who knows, but I wish my local rack looked like that.

I love staring at racks.
Re: Know The Code
I was waiting for the lift at Smuggs this weekend with my nephew and heard a string of shouts 'ski, ski, SKI!!!!!!' And when I looked up felt a clunk and tear just as a lone alpine ski tore across my nephews snowboard and then over my skis. It shot down into the driveway and a passerby handed it back up to us. While inspecting my skis and the offending rogue ski I noticed the brakes didn't work, and had actually been bent back - they were bent on top of the ski itself. A dude / bro / guy eventually booted over with a matching ski in hand and asked if we were ok and his buddies were all like 'dude, that could have killed someone!' I pointed out the brake and they suggested he bend it back before skiing anymore and were all like 'WTF man!'
I've never lost a tele ski, but I have now seen several alpine skis go sailing off from their owners.
Anyway. Got a nice knick taken out of my ski. Sort of pissed initially but glad no one got hurt.

I see a lot of runaway skis, and even more so boards at the mtn I work for, mostly coz it's a small beginner focused place - you get a loooot of people booting it down the trails with boards and skis in hand.
