Mounted these Voile Hardwire and Madshus Epoch

Post by gitrinec » Wed Dec 21, 2016 12:52 am

Well I ended up using the Voile Hardwires for the Madshus Epoch, got them all mounted up. These for some reason were harder to mount, shew!!

I'm not sure why these were harder to mountain than the Voile traverse, maybe they put the wrong screw set in the box, they were all longer screws, the same size as the heel plate screws, those riser bars about kill my hands putting them on the heel pads, especially if they come off while mounting, lol

MikeK ya that's the issue, lol. Hmmm import snow? Unless we have a freakish snow storm down here, I'll probably not see snow till May on Mont Blanc. I might not get to use these skis until Feb or April of 2018, well at least they are ready.

Yep. Those are always a wrestling match. Having a long and a short riser is awesome once you're touring, not so awesome when you have to fight two of them into place while mounting.

Nice looking set up!

Did you find the plugs for the heel plates didn't fit easily? I had to persuade the ones on my wife's set up. Which is the same as yours. I added a little chamfer with a file and they popped right in.

Not sure on the plugs for the heel pad on the hardwires, not put the plugs in on the heels yet,but on the Traverse they went in easily, same heelpads, I think putting the indented side facing the end of the ski seemed to help on the Traverse heelpad

We places the indents facing the tip of the ski. I filed the rear. Doubt It makes a difference. Seemed like a manufacturing error but nothing a little filing didn't fix.

Now those round ones on the front riser of the Traverse were a pain, they were all connected together and when I pulled them all apart they had a small piece of plastic sticking out that I had to remove.
