Telemark
Re: Telemark
Hit it hard Teledance, have a thousand arcs and the vibration might sucker punch the Jet stream and bring SNOW HERE!!!!! Been running skinnies on hardpack....Could be life changing...those trees in black and white shadowing by....All the forest debris is in play....Branches, limb, whole trees.....Boulders, ledges, stones....whips....almost nothing is covered....But the urge is there so out I go....Nature sustains....the beauty....animal tracks....lighting....shadows....breathing air of high quality....hearing the roar of the wind....It's all there except snow....So the skiing remains a way to feel the feel without almost any kind of telemark....If memory serves we got some a while back but that thought is dimming....Sustenance is just being out there, cruising....But sure would love some frosting.....TM
Re: Telemark
Shipping is a tad high, but new skis. Outtabounds. Wax. 189cm. Sounds like it should be called the Fischer KTB.

Woods? Perhaps a wax compliment to your Fischer BC collection?

Re: Telemark
Going into a warm up, it was fun while it lasted. Arc on.
Re: Telemark
Everybody here and there likes NATURE....We want to experience Nature....We tend to go on the 'THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED BY", we tend to head into the unknown....Assuming we all hold that in common.....Throw out the DH and CC....Both are regulated by lifts.....groomed trails....lots of people....If we can all sort of agree on this then there is this........................................................................................................................................................... How you get there and what you use to get there is xcd....How you use the equipment is xcd.....Being out there is xcd..................................................................................................................................................... It's NOT what you ski on or how you ski.....It's being out there........................................................................................................................................................ End......Couple of insights.....Got such a kick out of Kom's or ski ski snowshoes....Some person used such things up on Little Mountain and I study tracks.....They were out of this world.....This person went straight down anything and had huge smeared turns....Over big logs....down steeps.....and no snow blow up....He was going so slow he had total control.....He got there by going up at an angle we could not match.....Thought when I get another decade on I might be tempted.....I love the feel of the blessed arc and the energy of the skis we use....love the feel of snow blasting my face.....love going into dips and blowing out with the skis boosting the energy....My choice.....Others their choice....Meet you all at the fire.....but I'll probably get there first if your on......TM

Thought you had a stroke there after that one..................... it was the longest ellipse I'd ever seen.Teleman wrote:Throw out the DH and CC....Both are regulated by lifts.....groomed trails....lots of people....If we can all sort of agree on this then there is this...........................................................................................................................................................
Couldn't agree more GT. We all got into this because we were escaping those things. Everything we ski has elements of CC and DH.
It's BC.
It's Telemark.
It's XCD.
It's SKIING!
Skiing as it was intended to be.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Re: Telemark
Mike are you referring to me? have bought several outtabounds and given them all away....The only S Bound we have that did the deed really well was the Rebound but it broke easily and we don't treat skis of any kind with kid gloves....The rebound was good for the down at 189 the longest.....Just ok on the up, cruising or bushwhacking....Anything skinny did better and some as in the 109 can really crank on the down....Serious monomarks....Good at anything in the bush.....Enjoyed lc and his analysis on the new ones with an eye to what he likes to do with them.....We want to get there with as little pain as possible and then hit tele hard....It's what we do....For 36 years to be exact.....While others wrote about what they were doing we were doing it....TM
Re: Telemark
I put that recent one up there because the 78 might be the closest to a 109. It's light though. Air core. Not as tough perhaps as the old stuff. Has the 'bones' but they are some of the best 'bones' out there. The don't catch as bad as the others and climb damn good.
It's kind of stiff too. Not a ton of camber height but works for a big guy (IMO). I'm not getting any lighter.
Just passin' it on before they go the way of the dodo. Fischer won't have 199s anymore in the S Bounds. It's the last of the S Bound slicers!!! Probably my favorite ski too. Was an Eon before this, but this does everything that does but better.

Re: Telemark
Don't know what the dimensions are on the S70 as my computer froze up looking up! But if they don't come in a waxable ski they probably aren't for me....We got a couple of Sbound 98's when there wasn't anything else available...Gave one set to Telekid and Teleking purchased the other.....Only use them in deep bottomless powder because short skinnies would go in to deep....(we ski in rather than on snow surface but that can get ridiculous)....Still I think a 215 e109 would get the job done.....last time I shot the Vortex..( very steep shot in a tight spot of trees and things) was on a 205 e99....I got so old that I went shorter.....That was a couple of years back and it was wicked fast don't fall....just ride with fall off down without turns....Like a hundred foot arcs but no remembrance of any turning....Just face shots of exploding powder....Then there is this year....gag....TM
Re: Telemark
Horseshoes, rules, telemark....Waaaay back before rules there was backyard horseshoes.....each place had their own rules......so about a decade or so ago....after heated discussions about 3 points for a ringer 2 points for a leaner...(Outlawed by international rules of horseshoes....only one point).....and one point for closest.....I was raving about we don't need no stinkin international rules.....we are AMERICANS.....we live in Vermont do what we want.....Teleking in an emotional outburst says then....that from now on we will reward a leaner 5 points....Reward luck!!!!!! Oh yeah.....Done! We even have chapters down by NYC....There are no rules in Telemark....it is as they say what it is.....Doesn't matter what your on all that counts is doing the deed.....However there are observations....Which is more mind boggling....turn turn turn...chink, chink, chink....the sound of downhill hardpack....or....the swooping long arc.....swwwiiiiisssshhhhh....Riding was in yesterday.....short turns were out....All in all a good ski....TM
