Hey Anemic,

I can't help but notice the way your NNN binding was mounted...
Is there a reason for this or you just didn't have a jig?

Oh, I have a pair of very ugly 205cm Asnes touring skis that will go through the same treatment as your Splitkeins!
I had the idea yesterday while looking at your ski... Thanks for the inspiration!

Or are they really Asnes? They have the logo but it's written "Made in Poland" on the side...

Those Trysil-Knut skis are also Asnes skis... They sold lots of skis under different brand names to North American customers because we ate up authentic sounding names. Like my Holmenkollen, for instance.

I wouldn't sand the green ones down, I think they look awesome!

Those sure are some ugly wooden skis Johnny, I'm convinced they will be much nicer after you have worked the paint off of them!

Lack of a jig is no excuse for a crooked binding, I have never used one and never ended up with something like that. I assume our friend has crooked feet and your asking would be inappropriate, perhaps even insulting!

I've got some NNN BC bindings on a pair of woodies. I felt some lost of control and comfort switching from the older NN 75mm to it (I swapped the 75mm because i broke the binding after two outings). I'm thinking they would be even better with a 75mm super telemark binding. Whatever, not this again.

Woodies come in many shapes and colors. I just happen to like mine "au naturel". Even better if they are oiled rather than varnished, like the Birke up front:

Yeah I really like the way Woods' Madshus look. I don't know if that's how they came but clean with the inlay work, kind of like a guitar neck would be sweet.

Johnny and I determined that having something look too good on your skis (Cecilie Skog) is maybe a bad idea. You really should be looking where you are going and not at your ski tips.

That's really a good point. I have this amazing pair of Trysil Knuts. Just as nice as the Birke, same style. New. I oiled them and tarred but have not yet dared taken them out in the past 2 years for fear of scratching them. Oh my. I've got too many skis.

PS: will try to get a picture of it on here someday. Never found one of it on the internet anyway.
