If you are young you should move to Norway, they have the best quality of life in the world, if you like outdoor sport that is. A great place to work too.Lhartley wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 1:38 pmOnly if we can have euro style rail systems, hostels, and hut to hut ski systemsrandoskier wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 12:01 pmThe Economist, an actual real and highly intelligent news magazine, suggests that Canada join the EU, and lays out a good case for it. What are your thoughts on Sweden, in terms of quality of life vs Norway? My spouse has job offers in both Norway and Sweden and we are mulling our options. Housing in Sweden seems to be a bit more affordable. It seems that Sweden has a warmer climate vs Norway and one would need to live above Uppsala for consistent winter snow...And I get the impression that Sweden would be easier to obtain citizenship vs Norway.

It depends on which visa you have, I think. Sweden's a better bet for citizenship if you're EU and you have a non-EU partner, for example.

Otherwise a lot depends on where you'll be living. There's nothing between the two of them for 'quality of life'. The Norwegians have more money but the Swedes have incomparably better supermarkets and much cheaper booze.
Sweden is extremely beautiful and varied. The north is amazing. But If you like being outdoors, and you like skiing, and you love nationalism, I'd probably advise Norway.
If you like shopping and you don't want to be judged on your GoreTex shells, I'd recommend Sweden.
