Madshus Panorama Explorer Boots
Anybody tried these? I like the Alpina Alaska XP but it's a bit tight on my foot and going up a size makes it loose in the wrong places. I'm not sure I'm a big fan of the external brace on the Panorama; not convinced they make much of a difference. But I do like the zip up lace cover. Most important, if they fit me well... yay. And there aren't just a ton of choices in XP boots, yet.
Anyone know how they fit? The Alfa Free in a 41 fits good but with a tiny bit of heel lift. The Alaska XP fits in a 40 but I have to wear thin socks so it can be quite cold. Even then, it's a little too, tight. A thermoformed TXPro in 25.0 fits me perfectly.

I do feel that the selection of Xplore boots are quite wide now, but perhaps not where you are? https://rottefella.com/en_GB/xplore-partnere is in Norwegian even though the page is supposedly English. Models listed: Alfa Skaget, Vista and Free. Alpina Alaska XP, Pioneer Pro, Pioneer Tech and Pioneer Lite. Crispi Futura XP and Futura CXP. Fischer BCX Traverse. Lundhags Abisku and Abisku Expedition. Rossignol XP12

Re: Madshus Panorama Explorer Boots
I tried these in a shop. If you had Alfa 41, Madahus 41 fits. About as spacious. I did not experience heel lift (I have horrible heel lift on Alaska XP and some on Pi Pro)
The brace does help, although I am not a fan either. Longevity wise, I cannot comment on these boots.
Crispi Futura XP would be another option. Same sizing as Alfa but a tiny bit less space for toes.
Btw Alpina Pi Tech has a tiny bit more space for toes than Alaska XP and Pi Pro. This was the difference, Tech works for me. Although not as warm.

Re: Madshus Panorama Explorer Boots
I have the MADSHUS GLITTERTIND NNNBC boots. A different boot with some shared characteristics.
The upper plastic cuff support does help with rigidity. My new Alfa Vista is a little mushier in comparison.
The upper strap is a ratchet system and that's gotta be better than Velcro on Panorama Xplore. I've tightened for descending and push a button to quickly release some tension etc...
The upper gaiter type closure is nice and it's higher than My new Alfa Vista's & My ski pants gaiter worked better at overlapping the boot to keep snow out.
I pretty much like the boot's performance, however,
Durability has been an issue.
*The toggle closure cord has come apart of 2 pairs; the 2nd pair it happened the 2nd time I used the boot. I've rethread it in and sew it up but shouldn't have to do that.
*The front of the boot has complete come apart on 2 different pairs & both times they were replaced by the business that sold them to Me and they told Me Madshus had a bad batch of glue or something.
*So I'm on My 3rd pair after waiting during the summer to get a different batch for last season and the sides where the flex occurs in the boot is blowing out. On all 4 flex points; each side of each boot. -Pictured is the worst.
Due to the toe flex point blowing out, I was looking into new boots and found the Alfa Vista's on sale and decided to try the Xplore system, which I'm likely to comment on later in appropriate threads.
I will apply shoe gu to the blowouts so I can still use them for My other 2 pair of skis & until I decide how to go in the future regarding all that stuff, now having NNNBC & XPLORE.

Looks like whatever factory is cranking this stuff out isn't doing a very good job with quality control.

Re: Madshus Panorama Explorer Boots
So, I've tried these on but not skied them. For non-skiing I usually wear Salomon footwear, as they fit my fairly average width forefoot and narrow heel well. Many other brands are sloppy/too wide at the heel, but Madshus are not, and I was impressed by the fit. The external heel cuff is similar to that found on many skating boots, and despite its minimal size and non-carbon construction it's impressively stiff.
I've not seen all the other Xplore boots, but past experience is that Alpina is too wide and high volume, Alfa are too wide at the heel, and Rossi are narrow at the forefoot and wide at the heel. Fischer typically fit me okay, but I've not seen their Xplore boot. I know nothing about Lundhags or Crispi. Based on the info currently out there the only boot I'm confident would fit me is the Madshus, but the pix above are rather worrying.
