Position of 75mm Binding on Ski

I am going to mount Voile 201 75mm bindings on Fischer OTX Spider 62 skis for my Alpina Alaska 75mm boots. I sent an email to Fischer to determine where the bindings should be mounted, as instructions with the Voile bindings stated I should. After about a week, Fischer stated I should put the pin-line on the balance point. I found the balance point by balancing the ski on a straight edge. There was about one-quarter inch difference in the two skis, so I'm planning to go with the average. However, I have a question or two. I assume the pin-line on a 75mm binding is where the pins are located, right? Out of curiosity, is the pin-line on an NNN-BC boot where the bar is? If so, then isn't the boot location different, with the NNN-BC boot being closer to the balance point?

Looking in the wiki, binding placement seems to be a somewhat contentious issue, with some using chord length, boot placement, or balance point. I just want the most commonly accepted position, with no favor given to grip, glide or downhill performance. Can someone help with this?

Pins on balance point, bar on balance point, don’t sweat the small stuff, both work.
Nothing you make is exact, everything has a tolerance. The difference between pins or bar on BP fall within that tolerance.
