Skiing in walk lock ?

Hy all

During my last session i discovered that when I'm skiing in my T1, I have the best feeling ever!

Best torsional stifness.

Best forward lean with my back foot and my ball of foot perfectly placed.

And my front foot just as vertical as I need in order to see and feel the mountains in front of me....

Anyone tried and get this perfect feeling?

Even in the snowpark, the landing after big jump are as soft as in snowboard!

I mean...

I have the best feeling when I'm skiing in walk position... not in ski position.

I don't think it's too uncommon to ski in walk mode, especially with a big boot.

It is, but the entire telemark experience is fairly crazy anyway.

There have been a few times when I wonder why I can’t ski — then I realize my TX Pros are in walk mode.

Yes, I keep mine in the walk mode all the time. A couple of years ago one boot lever accidentally got flipped into the ski mode (the other was in the walk mode) while we were pulling off the skins. We started the descent, and the first turn felt a bit strange and then I lost it on the 2nd turn. It was one of those moments when your brain goes "what the XXXX". After that I modified my boots so that would never happen again. I removed all the ski/walk hardware. The removed bits weighed 150 grams per pair on the T2's which is not much, but no need to carry it around if I never use it. I filled the resulting hole with hot glue from a glue gun to keep the snow out and that has worked just fine.

I've skied my T1's in walk mode for many years. Taped them in place that way. Want an even smoother feel? I removed one buckle, moved another one, and have a much more balanced forward flex.

All your answers are interresting !
This is maybe a new option to explore...

With this walk mode you can ski big mountain with the feeling of a Xplore set up !

Loving trying to be a telemark "pirate" !

Thanks
Guys
