Ski Pole Length - BC Touring = Classic Groomed
Just wondering if ski poles for XCd (which I think is kinda the same as back country touring, anyways skiing on flat ungroomed surface), should be the same length as what I use for classic skiing on groomed trails.

Adjustable length poles are great for XCD.
We often talk about the tradeoffs between what's good for XC and what's good for the D when we talk about skis, bindings, and boots. Not so with adjustable poles. Keep 'em Long for when the conditions support XC K&G and short for the down. I especially like being able to shorten the poles when I'm picking my way through a young aspen stand -- or the poles get hung up in the branches.
