Kinda weird, never had this happen before. Ive mounted a bunch of bindings at this point, I have a jig and the right drill bit, and I used epoxy.
On a ski that Ive only had for a couple years that doesnt really get skied hard. Mostly for lower angle distance duty, i.e. basically pure XC.
The holes are pretty dramatically ovalized laterally, so Im assuming they've been loose for a while and wiggling.
Fortunately it happened in a benign manner, when I stopped on a flat to wait for my kid to catch up, so no crash or injury.
Makes me nervous about my other skis, particularly my Objectives that get hammered at resorts.

I've used inserts on a few of my other sticks, and I guess Ill have to try the oversized repair inserts on these.
Only similar issue I had was my first ski (same model, older version, different length) that I swapped bindings on too many times and chewed out the holes too much. Fischer Spider 62, light construction, not a whole lot of meat in there I guess.
Kinda sucks... Anyone else ever had this happen? I suppose I need to check my screws....

Ouch! Is that some kind of air core or foam core ski? Unusual damage.
If you can, you might want to consider reinstalling the bindings a centimeter or more from where they are now, drill new holes, instead of trying to anchor screws in those craters.

Wow. I’m no ski technician, but if I was trying to fix that without changing the mounting position then I’d fill those holes with JB Weld, drill, and mount with the normal screw / adhesive / sealant.

JB weld is epoxy designed to work for sealing leaks in refrigeration systems right next to the compressor, so high vibration applications. It should work well on a flexing ski.

But like I said, I’m not a ski tech so I really just pulled that out of my.... estimator.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what when wrong here. Is the binding on the other ski loose as well? I'd take a screwdriver to check the screws to see how firmly they are bonded. I tried to zoom in on the photo to see if I could get a better look at the screw hole cavity. I wonder if the epoxy was bad or didn't cure properly. Maybe a bad or weak wood core, or poor quality control on Fischer's end. To remount the binding into the same holes will take some extra care. One option would be to use a slow cure epoxy and the finest mesh steel wool you can find. Fill and plug the holes and let them cure for a few days before you redrill. Tighten the screws by hand so that you get a good feel for the strength of the repair.
