Hi looking at Fischer Transnordic 66 or 59 in 190. I have the outback 88 in 179. Looking for more speed, breaking trail in small amounts of fresh snow, and possible track ski. I will be using them with NNNBC alpina alaska and magnum. Thanks Marlow

59 will fit better in the track, no doubt.
66 will fit marginally. I get it to work but it's not the greatest, the wider shovel and rocker cause it to ride up sometimes making for an inefficient ride.
Trail breaking in a few inches of snow-- probably equivalent. Tough to go wrong here with the 59, I think.

The 59 is marginally faster, while the 66 turns significantly better, especially when going off trail.
If speed and track skiing are the main priority, the 59 is great.
If you want a little more versatility, the 66 is better.

I don’t know if you have a local dealer, or are committed to a waxless pattern, but Gamme really is a great ski if you are ordering and you are willing to wax.
Gamme does have a rockered yet still stiff tip, with full wrap metal edged, it is not the best ski in tracks. In consolidated snow, or groomed or up to 6” over a base it’s faster than anything I have been on. I say up to 6”, because much more than that I’m looking for turns! I really haven’t skied Gamme in deeper.

IMO this type of on/off piste ski is pointless. Its sounds like your oriented towards the hard stuff, so I would get the TN59's. If you already have some classic XC skis, I would get the 66's for some variety. Because I have both, I know how fun the 66's are to glide on a little bit of snow, while the 59's deny me of that pleasure.
The Gammes are probably the better ski, stiffer and faster, with a little flotation.
P.S. I also think you need faster boots.

Thanks again great feedback! We do have classic ski’s for tracks. So looking more at 66. What would you suggest for faster boot that is nnnbc?

Going fast on skis is like running. Running requires freedom of movement in your feet. The way I see it is that backcountry boots are like hiking boots, while XC boots are like running shoes. I'm not going to subject my feet to running in hiking boots.
I have OTX5s. They're really comfy, but the outer mesh has shredded quickly and there will soon be holes. There's a lot of other nnnbc boots that are like glorified XC boots. They're like entry/crossover boots. If you out for speed you might enjoy pairing it down to some lighter boots.
