What is it with you guys and that crust busting thing?
Did I miss something and crust is the new trendy thing to do?!?
Crust is the new powder?
No crust here so far this season...

Heh, as you know you ski what you have.....Pay homage....powder will come and be more sweet for it....More crust yesterday but Telewheels and I horizontalized........and fouynd some sweet powder for a short steep wonderful shot with snow flying....Thinking Telekid is back up there this morning and the question is will he go southwest or Northeast....Both get him@1000 for a morning run....Might sample some myself later...TM

Headed up to Wind Gap between Little Mountain and Raven Ridge....Wind usually blows the powder out of there but that early storm lies heavy up there with about 8-10 inches of powder....Light snow falling and on moderate steepness the e109's were very fast on 25o powder....Just a fantastical ride....little more whippy there and not quite as open as on other aspects of the hill but.....dynamite.....Wondering if the cold snow today will be a big difference?....TM

Speculating came to naught....Different Mountain range and poor memory to blame...First off...8-14 inches of powder on 2-3 foot base with a Jay peak pole measurement @50 plus inches...Yes this is a snow zone and having skied it since the early 70's should have known....Mostly a cc into a large bowl of ridges with a series of high ponds in the middle....one of the first Moose pods well into Vermont not just on the border near Moose Ally....Moose were still there, no sheds as of yet...Telesven and I are partial to this area as it's out of it, high, and quirky....After departing the logging roads we dropped into the ponds and all civilization disappeared...Fir, spruce, cedar....birches here and there a few Old Growth large Yellow birches, a very healthy forest.....Lots of critter life up there....moose, rabbit, Fischer, coyote, ermine. Round trip about 6 miles with a vertical gain of 600 feet, very gentle....Ridges are recovering from a massive logging job about 15 years back....Special place and the snow was really good requiring some steeps to get going...Need to see if whip world is thinning for another possible horror show...TM

My money is on the second from the left as coolest of the cool.... Headed out and was on the Hill early....Could hear wind up high...lots of powder...worked on the up trail...making it more wax friendly...ripping off branches...heading up slowly as the snow began to intensify....Started hearing groaning trees, knocking, clicking... winds started to wind up....pleasant temp of 28o....Blue extra started to stick some....Headed down with closing openings, had to crank TURNS, lucky to get arcs here and there....The squall hit about the time I got to the truck...minus the bumper...because I yanked out a Fed X truck...Pulling out the heater quit and the windows froze up...Stopped and repeated and heat came on....Got to a road and the winds went wild.....The snow a blizzard, total white outs....Had to stop....5 mph...near home the snow lessened....Temp has dropped 20o the last 4 hours....Great day!!!! TM

Man Telewheels just sent a link....heh....don't know where it is....but he said that my favorite place to ski may have gotten from 16 to 20 inches....Let you know tomorrow....If true will break out about 2 miles, not necessarily in one swoop....Also will hit the steeps where I can pin in those e109's that were so good last week....TM

Yeah, bout 6 inches of beautiful powder on about six inches of heavy stuff....on top of about two feet of other stuff...Broke out about two miles of flats with a snow bowl at the end....Snow was very cold and the skis with green on them kinda slow...but tomorrow will go later so the sun heats things up....speed will be an excellent thing....Are in the middle of serious wintah~!!!! Used polar wax and green under foot and the skis went up well this morning....Previous day ccbc with only polar and that worked well also.....Wondering if I would need blue but nah....Went up well....Got tugged down into the Northeast fields....still dark....sun hitting this and that but not down in the Bowl....Wondering if the e109's were long enough, they weren't...but in the steep deep wide open openings.....cold snow was flying, face melting snow, some places knee deep....Kidding me?...TM
