hut to hut trip

Hi all,

My Fiance and I are thinking about trying to do some sort of hut to hut trip this winter if we can find something that's not too gnarly. Any suggestions for a lady that is more adept on XC skis than I am but less comfortable falling down a mountain than me?

Thanks!

Boy, could you be more precise?

My answer, in the same mode, could be «here man, try here»...

sorry about that. I think we're trying to stick to US/Canada.

Tahoe Rim Trail goes around Lake Tahoe. Might be worth a gander.

Numerous possibilities in the Québec national parks, whose ski trails are known for being pretty "accessible" (some might say boring) and which have many huts. Remains to be seen whether the huts will be open this winter or not though.

Mont-Tremblant and Papineau-Labelle are the easiest to get to, snow is usually good from January to March ... EDIT: and, yeah, the Sépaq in their infinite wisdom, will not be opening the huts in these parks this winter :( Gaspésie is the classic place to go, it seems they are enforcing specific itineraries this year, which is maybe good for you - they have 2, 3, and 4-night options. It is surprisingly far away.

I think New Hampshire and Maine have some very nice huts but others can answer this...
