I dont know man, I've never liked NNN on anything over 68 underfoot. All my wider skis sport Rottefella Super telemark bindings, 75mm, 3 pin

I use nnn and I use 3pin on wide skis. I was just wondering what the widest ski underfoot some one has tried with nnn bc bindings. Seeing if anyone has done it. It woukd be fun on fluffy powder days just on small lines through the forest

Do report how’s it goes! Not too long ago, a knight would have been banished from xcdom for attempting what you propose. Somehow, they have softened up and are more relaxed about all this now. Enjoy!

I see no reason for not doing it... NNN-BC is much better than pins for XC skiing... And much better on the downhill too... They sure would make a nice skishoes / sliding setup... Don't expect to be able to make precise turns though, unless your 106 waisted skis are holy grail fatties under 5lbs... ;)

I'd say give it a try for what you want to do. The widest I've gone with leather boots and 3pin is mid 90s and I found it was plenty of boot for soft powder. The key is to be in sync with your skis, let them do the work, ride them as opposed to driving them I don't think it takes much lateral leverage to turn a ski in soft powder.

I'd like to add that if I only had one pair of skis in that width I'd go with a heavier boot/ binding for more versatility.

Thanks for the replies! And thankfully I have 3 pairs of skis in that width. So I'm going to give it a go. Lets just hope for some fluffy snow this weekend as they are calling for 30 cm where I am.

XCD isn't even a thing - much less a "doctrine".
