Hey Johnny,
Your micro-climate sucks!!!
TeleVT,
I have to visit Burke at least once before I die. It looks like a nice place to tele.
I was a few kilometers away form both of you yesterday (masonville, qc). Powder was dry and we had a lot of fun (and I have pictures to prove it)

Some of it is part of the semi-secret backcountry aera. We did not go all the way down to the lake because I was the only one with skins. Even without skins the trail can be walk without a problem if you are willing to sweat a bit.LoveJohnny wrote: Cooool! Nice pics bro!

It's funny that you bring the word "real" in your statement. We had that discussion all day long, what is a "real" telemarker? We did came up with a list by the end of the day. If you speak frenck you check it out there:LoveJohnny wrote: You guys are real hardcore tele skiers... Black Diamond skis exclusively! Whooooaaaaa!

Otherwise here's a translation:
1. You are an active or passive member of one of those political parties (Quebec)
•Mariuana party
•Option Nationale
•Marxiste-Léniniste party (communist)
•Green party
•Québec solidaire (left-wing social democratic and sovereigntist)
•Québec - révolution démocratique
2. You have consume one of these in the last day
•Tofu
•Sesame seeds
•Flax oil
•Fair trade coffee
•Ginkgo biloba enriched tea
3. You wore or you still wear the red square (In Quebec, the red square, usually pinned to clothing, is a political symbol of opposition to the depletion and the increase of the cost of public services. It also symbolizes support for Quebec's 2005-2012 student strikes and the Québec student movement)
4. You have armpits/legs hairs if you are a women or you are wearing a beard if you are a man
5.You have an annual membership to Greenpeace
6. You have an electric car of a PZEV (partial zero emission vehicule)
7. You have a cross-body bag, a Peruvian puncho or New-Zeland lamb whool socks in your wardrobe
8. You never cheat and return to an alpine style, even if extremely exhausted. You make a knee drop on every single turns
9. You are anti-conformist
10. You are listening to one of these groups:
•The Doors
•Janis Joplin
•Grateful Dead
•Jefferson Airplaine
•Frank Zappa
Without a surprise I scored a 0%, so I guess I'm not yet a "real" telemarker.
Never forget, I know exactly where you live and I'm at least twice your sizeLoveJohnny wrote: (You can get banned for posting BD shit here... Didn't you know? )

Re: Today was the day!...Yahoo!
Nice try! (Hey you forgot the dreadlocks and the smell!)
But I think I can sum it up even more easily... It's so simple, there's only two rules:
The REAL telemark skier
1- Will NEVER, ever ski on post-2006 Black Diamond skis (Sorry trendy ZoneSki skiers...)
2- Have at least one pair of leathers
That said, I have yet to see a real tele skier here in Quebec. As I was saying in another thread, everything here is fake. Like the worst of the US, but even worst... No wonder why Quebecers are so in love with Black Diamond... Funniest thing is, I would bet my life that none of them know who Yvon Chouinard is... (Hey that's a French name isn't it?!?) God I love my country...
But catch me if you can, I'm moving out west...
And oh, be careful in the woods next time, because... Oh, never mind, you guys are already wearing helmets...
It's snowing like crazy here!!!

Yeah, and I didn't eat a single protein in over 15 years, that makes me even weaker right?Never forget, I know exactly where you live and I'm at least twice your size
