Rottefella Tele Release Plates
Rottefella Tele Release Plates
Does anybody have any experience or know anything about Rottefella Telemark Release Plates
I picked up a pair used a few weeks ago, I actually bought them because they came with a G3 Targa bindings in really nice shape at a price I couldnt even buy replacement cables and spring cartridges for. I had not even really heard of them previously, and I had only ever seen the old Voile ones which are a totally different concept.
I don't have any real plan to use them, but I think they are interesting and can see that at least on the bench they seem like they would work. I wondered if anyone had any experience with them or thoughts on them.
For myself, I have never really thought about a release with Tele, I guess I am relying on the cable and spring to be flexible enough to minimize the possibilities for injury. Skiing places with avalanche danger it might be nice (I mostly don't) but I am not really sure if these would be ideal and they are fairly heavy.
Anyway just wondered out of interest what people thought about them or if anyone had ever used them.

Re: Rottefella Tele Release Plates
Never used them, but dealt with some during my ski tech years. Look to be very well made; should be effective for lateral release... don't recall if they have a forward release capacity.
Personally- I favor (and ski) a release function with full on tele gear. Not much flex in plastic boots and a solid mount, and it's all to easy to hook a ski and get torqued.
