I have been skiing the old s7 s with ntn happily for 4 years with the binding at minus 2 (found by chance)
I upgraded recently to the squad 7 s after reading many reviews and am really struggling
I had them mounted at 0 and am now trying minus 1 but I just find they run away with me very easily
in perfect powder I seem to be managing them but any wind effect or piste and I feel I am fighting hard for control
it may be that I am just not good enough for them
I have been on tele for 4 years and get in about 50 days a season
I have read the links on binding placement and to be honest I just get confused
I get my shop to mount them but they havnt got much experience with ntn
I ski garmont prophets
I have one twice broken ankle on one side which seriously restricts my forward lean in this side
any tips on what I should do
sell the squad 7 s?
move the bindings?
have one binding different from the other?
do more weights and stop being a girl?

You could try moving the bindings, it takes only 30 secs...

Are you sure they were properly mounted? Boot center at CC?
Still have your old skis to compare?

yup they were mounted boot centre at zero as marked on ski
I moved them back to minus 1 but this is as far as I can go without re drilling
I have my old skis but they are a very different design with much less rocker
so really I am just trying to figure out if I re drill or not and which way

So, you trust manufacturer?

Well, of course this kind of rocker ski doesn't allow much control when you're skiing anything else than powder... So your lack of control on piste is kind of normal... Maybe the rocker in the old s7 was not as strong...

Even if it's totally the opposite of what they are made for, I would try them for a few hours on the groomers... Just to get used to how they feel / react outside powder...

Squad is a "big boy" version of the S7. It may be that the metal/stiffness and the turn radius is enough to throw you off.

yup it could just be I'm not strong enough on teles to manage the extra stiffness
I can handle it on deep fresh powder but once it gets wind effected or cruddy I struggle
I just wondered if the binding position could make things easier for me

Well it could have been the position, but if you're around boot center it's probably something else... I would say just practice... : )

It's not about being stronger or better, but just knowing your gear and how it reacts to certain conditions. Time & practice, that's all...
