Just been reading the post entitled "Nostalgia", what a great photo that is. I still ski in leather boots and on skinny boards. I've just bought a pair of Asnes Super Telemark TM3 brand new. Anybody still ski them or skiied them in the past? Can't decide whether to put Riva Cables on or Rottefella Chili bindings. Any thoughts from anyone?

sounds cool - they are not on Pinnah's website…I think we need a picture. what are the measurements? What boots are you going to use?

I'm not familiar with that ski but I have Rivas on a narrow ski that work well with leather boots as well as even a four buckle plastic boot. I haven't skied the chilis much but the pivot point of the cables is a lot further back than on the Rivas which may give you more power but not as good for K&G.

The skis are: 68-58-60. So quite a nice racing cut. Here is a link to a couple of pictures:

cool looking skis! So they're real skinnies, simlar to the current Amundsen. I would forego the cable and put Rottefella Super Telemark bindings on there. that would keep it lightweight. They may be really stiff and not suited so well to up-down turning missions. If they're flat-camber I guess they'd be better for cranking turns with a heavier binding.

I think I'm going to put the Chili bindings on. The skis will be used in resort and for short trips, say a three or four hour walk.

I usually use some old Merrill leather lace up boots that I bought in 1988, they've been resoled a few times but are still useable. I've also picked up some Asolo Extreme and a pair of Asolo Extreme Racer that I'm going to try in the next couple of weeks. I've been busy buying up any old school tele skis I can find, just got a pair of Tua Cirque and two pairs of Dynastar Coupe du Monde all new and unmounted from somewhere in Poland. I figure in 10 years time they'll be like gold dust. Well maybe.

Ok like 7 years later... but how are the camber on these compared to, say, Amundsen Fram?

From Dave’s Nordic Backcountry Ski Page…. He talks about touring skis have a double camber wax pocket. In the Old School Tele’s listed below the Asnes Telemark is noted to be a “touring ski” the inference being that it is a double camber ski made to go straight and far.

Asnes Sondre 67/57/62 2005 softer flex than the Rago, moderate wax pocket

Asnes Skarven 67/57/62 2005 edgeless, strong wax pocket

This photo bucket link is dead, wondering if I have this same ski. By my measurements it looks to be the same. Can't find any info. Seems to be a quite stiff ski.
