Pretty athletic young man. A guy just turning 40 could brag about those moves!

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
While my nearly 2 month old is sleeping I've been able to go for some shorter (2 hour) ski trips in the backyard. About 350m elevation change.
Trip to Elgsetheia (translates to moose field hill): View to the Trondheimsfjord to the north west.
Trip to Gråkallen ("gray old man") Also view to the NW
Not a lot of snow but temperature well below freezing. The summits were quite bare due to wind effects, but there was enough snow to ski up without problems.

Nice pics!! 2 months might be a little soon. I waited a bit longer.

I landscaped my entire house with my son in backpack kind of like that. he would chatter away then fall asleep. now that he's 18 I've asked him if he remembers digging holes for trees or building masonry retaining walls...he does not. slept through I guess.

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
I made some Tele Turns! Took the SB 98’s, Ski March, Voile cable binding, out again. Found a nice service road off the Lakota trail in Winter Park. First few runs were goofy in the 6+” of fresh pow. Once I got it knocked down a bit I felt more comfortable dropping a knee instead of falling back to an alpine stance. By the end I had my legs together, rear ski tip close to front boot and feeling the skis turn. Just need to work on lead change, still a little slow.
Then went back and switched to the Europa’s and went up the main trail to check out a hill across the ravine. It has less small trees and a 10 to 20 degree slope. Once I got there I could see stumps still showing through the snow. Won’t be going there for a while.
So it was back to the parking lot.

Day trip in Caribou-Targhee National Forest (Black Mountain, Idaho).
6+ miles out and back, 1,200 vertical.
No new snow for quite a while. Variable snow (wind crust, sun crust, drifting, too many snow machine tracks!).
Still able to find some nice lines on the east side, with less sun, in wind shadow, and untouched by snow machines.
10 to 20 degrees F (0 by the time I got home at 6PM).
FT62 / 188 / X-Skins up. Aspirational skill level. Gorgeous day!
.
(Woods, I am getting right back on those skis, so don’t bust my chops about the bails! )

Day 2 (day 40, for me), at Deer Valley, after about 18" by opening on Saturday, this is Sunday looking back at the lift line on Mayflower/Orient Express.
Terrible crowds!
And all skied out!
Not bad for day 2!
