Martin,
Do you think there is a big difference between my red/white FT 62 in 189 cm and the 196 cm Xplore? I mean someone has to test these new skis out.
I think, from what I saw in the store, that there is a good difference in camber and stiffness with the green and white that I have. I would not mind volunteer to try them if you chip in to buy them .
Seriously, what I saw and felt is what Crister wrote about them in other threads. I don’t know if that resulted in a heavier ski but I think that would not be a bad thing especially if you use them in resort like you do. I also think they will be faster in rolling terrain. But the jury is still out!
I compared them with the previous FT that was still in store and they looked similar but the shovels felt stiffer like the rest of the ski. I did not get them because I really have to free my quiver before I make any move… and maybe family pressure
Otto tip and tail same as T78, with more side cut / narrower waist (55 vs 61).
Would someone with an Ingstad and a T78 want the Otto?
(Well, of course they might WANT it, but would they buy it?)

It sounds like the new 196 FT could be right up your alley, Fish. Whaddya say? Pull that trigger? Do I have to drop some existential crisis Warren Miller quotes on you?

So Woods, you seem to be the only one who actually pulled the trigger on the new Otto. I am curious to know where do you see this ski in your quiver? Or maybe you actually don’t know and just could not resist buying them
