I was wondering if there would be any performance penalty (other than some extra weight) mounting ST with cable on the Voile 20 mm riser vs on the Voile 10 mm for Madhsus Panorama 78?

I’m not sure the 20 mm is much heavier than the 10 mm. I only prefer the lower riser

My 2.13 cents (inflation)….
After using the Rott ST Cable on my Rossi Alpineers I’ve noticed that skinning, my boot (TN 75) rotates the cartridge and throws it out of whack and I have to fiddle with it back to correct tension. Wish I had done risers.

Same thing used to happen to me on some binding or another, I think I taped the front of the cartridge to the cable with a (thinnish) strip of Gorilla tape.

Oh I guess you can find the Rottefella riser in Europe. Will that riser work for clipping the cable to if you don't want to use it but don't want to take it off?
I am planning on switching my Nansens from bc to rotte st cable for the purpose of skinning up resort and skiing down, and I guess fiddling with removing and reattaching the cable can be a pain, especially for a hill with a mere 680 ft vert. I am not terribly interested in trying to modify the voile riser to work.

@m@mca80
Considering the application you describe above-
what is stopping you from simply releasing the cable and leaving it laying on the ski deck when climbing?

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Good point.
Although on occassion I may take it on longer tours when a cable attached to a riser would be useful.
