Fischer E-109 vs. Asnes Ingstad

Best case scenario it looks like I can maybe test the Grey Man out next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I should have them in before the weekend and I'll take measurements. This weekend doesn't look ideal, but it's supposed to get below freezing again by Tuesday. Hopefully we retain a base and get some fresh snow over top. If so I'll send the Grey Man out on a night mission.

the eagle has landed - actually a husky! the Breidablikk definitely have more camber than the Sbound 78. Also very soft/bend-able tips.

I made an interesting discovery - the balance point on both these is virtually the same as chord center. The balance point on the Gamme 210's is at least 1cm forward of the BP on my 210 E99's. So I will mount my super tele's on BP for both Asnes skis. On my E99's I mounted 1cm forward of BP, so the bindings will be in the same place on both skis. I think I like being at chord center on this type of ski……..

the BP appears to be 1" forward of the "G" in "Noreg" on both skis btw……could be useful:

Isn't the Breidablikk the same ski as the Ingstad- without the metal edges?

Should have softer camber, be softer at the tip and less grabby at the edges (of course) given its metal free. God bless the hounds. I want to see pics of you Ski-joring Canna!

I'm going to measure the 200cm Ingstads and overlay it with the Eon and S78 so we can have some point of reference.

My measurement is crude, but if you have 30lbs in lead weights in 5 lb increments you could repeat it. It's not enough weight for stiff DC skis and I realize I should actually measure wax pocket length vs load rather than camber gap. it should give more repeatable, meaningful, and easier to measure results, but I'll do the camber gap first.

I did a lot of looking on the net and they measure race skis that way, both vertical deflection and wax pocket length. Both are useful measurements to understand how the ski flexes. Beyond that, for DH, it's helpful to see how the ski reverse cambers.

update - I just talked to Neptune - they have more skis than appear on the website. Nansen is sold out, but they have NATO combat in 190cm and 210cm for $299 - didn't someone here want 210's?? She said a few other models are in stock that aren't on the website, not sure which ones. Forgot to ask about Ingstad. You call 303-499-1027 and ask for Stephanie.

I just had NNN-BC magnums put on my Ingstads yesterday. Assuming I keep the Alaskas I got a day or two ago, I'm posed to get them out this weekend for the first spin....

That husky top sheet is awesome. Ski-joring is a howl.
