188 might be a bit much indeed for my 70kg…

Concerning the M68 and rabb which size would you go for?

The current Rabb 68 (though apparently stiffer than the previous design) is less cambered and rounder-flexing than the Storetind.

The M68 is a soft round-flexing noodle.

The Rabb 68 has much more stable flex.

How tall are you?
How open is the terrain you will be skiing on?
What is the typical snow?

I ask because at your weight any length of either of these skis might "work"-
but, as the terrain opens up and/or the snow get deeper- I would want a longer length.

I went for the Rabb at 180- had trouble deciding- but wanted for downhill focus, and decided to stick close to my height (178)-
though I do weigh significantly more than you at 84kg.

Also I am skiing forested glades primarily with the Rabb- went for the shorter turn radius of the 180 v 188.

However- as touring ski with distance and hills- I am not currently convinced that a 196 Falketind 62X is a better touring ski than a 188 Rabb 68...

I am 182cm 70kg without clothes/boots and pack.

Concerning the tree, it is varied. It depends if I ski in the woods around Oslo or drive a bit to get over the tree line

Here is the playground outside oslo

@Charlynor
Those photos are spectacular! Wish I could join you!
(My local conditions are densely forested. The closest open mountain conditions like that are in the mountains in the Gaspe, Quebec.)

With that much open space- I would lean towards the 188 Rabb 68- though I am heavier than you.
The longer length will give you more stability in all conditions- especially at speed; deep snow; and long approaches.

The Rabb 68 skis "short" due to its rocker.

Can you go to shop look at and compare, flex and stand on the 180 vs 188 Rabb? Can you look at the M68 at the same time?

For $200 it would be hard for me to resist trying that Storetind + T4...

Ok- won't the boot you choose drive the binding choice?
