I figured the best way to measure the interior toe room was to pull out the insole and use it for the measurement. As soon as I get new boots I pull out the insole to check the support. With my high arches I usually replace them with SupperFeet green. I’ve used the Winter Red in the Alaskas and Fischer TN. I have the original felt insole of the Artic. All boots are size 43. Hope this helps. Superfeet Custom Carbon Winter Insoles on sale at SunandSki, 60% off.

Alpina Alaska - 94.5 mm Interior is packed down but feels tight due to possible leather shrinkage.

Alico Arctic- 95.5 mm New boot so interior has some cushion and feels to have more room than just 1 mm. Used original insole for measurement.

Fischer TN - 94.0 mm Used 1 full season, well insulated/padded interior snug but not tight with a little give.

Much appreciated ∆∆∆. I pulled the insole from a size 45 Svartisen (runs a size large, all my other boots are 46) and it measured 96mm. I stood on it and my foot was wider, 110mm, but the Crispi has room to accommodate the ungainly appendage. I've tried an Alaska size 46 and it is uncomfortably tight. The Alico would have to have quite a bit more room to accommodate. Thanks again.

Been trudging around the house in the Black Leather Artics, comparing them to Alaskas and Excursions. Excursions still feel the best, the artics make my clapped out Alaskas feel like slippers. All three feel like they have a place. Throw Alico footbeds straight into the garbage

Just ordered a pair of the Alico Artic green suede boots in size 41 from Telemark Pyrenees. Curious to see how they will fit as my foot size is always something in between 40 and 41 with most shoes and boots.
(OT : Also I doubt my ex army stock ski march boots in size UK 7M and my feet will ever become friends  : likely I didn't break them in correctly as one crease tries to break my big toe. Maybe those ski march boots are half a size too long. Anyway, that is another topic.)
Curious also to see duckbill thickness and what bindings to pick: got several different ones available now, most as NOS : old Voile 201 (old logo), old HD mountaineer (old logo), R'fella extreme and Black Diamond XCD :D
If they fit well I'll use these Artic boots with Aasnes Combat Nato, Fischer Traverse 78 and maybe early & late season on some old fjellski.
Not sure yet what footbeds to order. Tips welcome for what is available in Europe.
