Those booties must fall off quite a bit, I see them on the trail all the time.

For what it's worth, my ski buddy's dog got its rear leg run over by another ski buddy on a downhill run and severed its tendons. The dog was fond of running downhill and cutting skiers off. was

Man that sucks. Obviously proper training is the best thing one can do, but just the possibility, however small, of that happening to my dog makes me inclined to get edgeless next and only ski where there's no other skiers.

Cutting tendons is what scares me. I’ve had a few beagles cut pads pretty deep all on their own. So I’m not overly concerned about cutting a pad. Cutting a tendon on my dog, would be a terrible thing.
However it does demonstrate that the personality of the dog and it’s behavior around skiers is a good indicator of problems. Then you access the danger and the joy. You make a decision, and you hope for the best

It is important when the dog is young to make it clear to them when you have skis on you are not stopping or going around them if they get in the way. Then they need reminders here and there. A whack on the butt with a basket, a shin to the ribs, they get the message.

my dogs have typically always started out,
being the trail-blazer, leading the way...
and very rarely do they stop on the trail in front of me.

Then, as the tur goes on, and they get sick of having to break trail,
they always transition to following in my tracks behind me - but not *too* closely.

Any "training" on this, that they received was purely "accidental" lol.
But I did start both out, when they were around 6months to a year old.

Just ordered the Finnmark 190cm from Neptune because my old dog (10 yrs come March) is an old dog and can't be taught new tricks and I plan on getting a puppy maybe this coming year. Figure this is good for training a new pup so if I do hit hin it's a learning experience and not a disaster.

Good choice! Reckon you'll be really happy with Finnmark

I would consider the new Falketind 62 Xplore. It has very acceptable kick and glide performance, and it turns, and the rocker planes. Not a complete review, but I bet it outperforms the Kongsvold in more than the reverse. I like dogs, so Kongsvold wins the topsheet competition.
I didn’t pay any duty for a set of expensive, light weight, two piece backcountry ski poles that I purchased from Varuste.
