The Great North American ASNES FEVER!
Re: The Great North American ASNES FEVER!
IIRC Neptune carries the FT62 but not much bigger from Asnes, definitely never seen their poles there! I moved about 30 minutes from my previous almost-accross-the-street spot so I don't stop in as often. The new owners really went all out though, the place has a coffee bar, climbing wall and three beers on tap.

OOOOoooooOOOOOooooOOOOOOoooo I skied the Ingstads today at the beginner area, rode the chairlift, they turn really nice for a XC ski... I probably looked like I knew what I was doing out there even, they are kind of like cheating!

I assume they have a smooth base. Does that ski come no wax, or just the integrated skin?

Today I was on the Wax/normal version. Classic wax ski. They make a waxless, I happen to have a pair, I have not skied them.

I know- it is amazing isn't it? They are even more dreamy downhill than the E109 Xtralite!Woodserson wrote:OOOOoooooOOOOOooooOOOOOOoooo I skied the Ingstads today at the beginner area, rode the chairlift, they turn really nice for a XC ski... Not only will they charge and carve, but on soft snow I can even do some smearish turns with them.
That tip rocker produces beautiful early-tip-rise at speed, and the flex is so supportive in deep snow, I can feel the entire ski supporting me!
AND then- you pounce on them on consolidated snow and it feels like you just moved the mounting point forwards!!! Talk about turn initiation!!! WOW.
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

I bet it feels like all your turns were initiated in Norway or more accurately the Czech Republic.lilcliffy wrote:[Talk about turn initiation!!! WOW.

Neptune is the Mecca of XCD for a lot of us... I sure will have to do a pilgrimage over there one day before I move to the next life...HBS wrote:IIRC Neptune carries the FT62 but not much bigger from Asnes, definitely never seen their poles there! Pure Nordic Magic. And the Ingstad was only the beginning my friends...lilcliffy wrote:AND then- you pounce on them on consolidated snow and it feels like you just moved the mounting point forwards!!! Talk about turn initiation!!! WOW.
Imagine now for a second... The same Norwegian Magic on wider skis like the Rabb 68 or the Tindan 86... It's crazy...
