Awesome. Conditions are officially, like, perfect (if you like shovelling snow...)
Oh, no fear. It's an AI-generated picture from the prompt 'black and white photograph of a musk ox on skis'.
I've got this one in reserve:
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
so my daughter came to visit and I was showing her around. at one point she pointed up and ask me: who skis up there? I had to look and then saw the tracks. I had posted a pic of these same meadows 2 weeks ago saying that someone should ski them...I guess someone did.
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Just another windy day in the Badlands. 150cm+ windloaded aspects of deep light sandlike snow. Hard sun and wind crusted ice on the plains.

I’m glad you are finding good skiing Joe. Don’t worry about us American guys, we can convert to inches in our head!
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Thanks! I'm definitely missing the deep consistent powder that everyone has been having out West. This has been very unique terrain, and by the time I'm done here, I will need new skis, skins, and boots... the Badlands just mutilate my Norwegian gear.
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
impressive. I would have thought all the snow in South Dakota would have been blown to MN or Iowa? I'm in Montana, and I think a fair amount of our snow blows into ND....

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
This Friday I skied the Coppermine Trail to Bridal Veil Falls, on the west side of Mt Cannon in NH.
The trail starts out mellow, and gets steeper (for XC) toward the end. The trail runs alongside the brook much of the way up. Beautiful frozen waterfall .2 miles past the Coppermine Shelter.
The Støretind skis were just perfect for these conditions.

East Inlet ROMO NP - took a quick bushwhacking ski to the bottom of Adam’s Falls on my Hoks. Am I crazy to think about skiing down them…. I do have crampons and an old school ice axe.
