Wife's nice tele tracks on the left; I stayed among the less beautiful tracks on the right made by a previous group. She stopped and turned to watch me; mine really is a sitzmark! This was at the end of our tour -- too tired to go higher.

Finally snow (we've had rain every other day since January and temperatures as high as 7°C'/ 55°F in February, and hurricane-force winds which is... well, we live at 69°north and... fuuuuu).

But look, who cares! NO PLANET ON A POWDER DAY!!!! Northern Norway is ridiculous when it's like this. -8°C, dry virgin snow, party of three, skied up to the hut, lit the stove, stoked it, had some oranges and then set out to the top of the saddle on virgin powder, looked at the view, whizzed back down, hot chocolate in the pre-warmed hut, back to the trailhead. Fridjtof Nansen, I love and revere you.









Bonus picture from a much higher tour last week. We turned back because it was just too avalanchy for my liking (quite high up, really good snow but wind slab warnings and we found ourselves on a 30°+ slope that made me anxious).
