The word from the mothership is 'limited production' @Stephen ... which I'm assuming means that there's some new stock in a get-em-while-you-can kind of way!
I wonder when the 2022/2023 Asnes catalog will come out, and whether they will have any new products this year.
I have a hard time imagining Asnes getting out of the track ski market, given how much people seem to like the Mountain Race and Mountain Tour skis. I hope I can still buy a waxable Mountain Race or Mountain Tour ski before they're all gone...

I think Crister Næss said something a few months ago about a replacement for the MR48 coming at some point if I remember right.
There's going to be a metric shitload of highly desirable Åsnes branded gear coming, apparently, and some of it's 'proper' equipment.
Just ordered a set of Falkentind 62/172. Hope they hold up to the hype!
Did you order the older generation white/green, or the new Falketind Xplore that is black?
The new black ones, 'tuned' for the Xplore binding. Still debating if I want to give the Xplore binding a try on it or go with an NTN or TTS. I'd like to stick with leather boots for mobility which would mean either an old 3-pin or the Xplore. Sort of done with trying to source old stuff... It's so hit and miss.
The new Xplore is for me a big improvement over the earlier version. It has much better kick and glide, and it handles mank better. However it is not as surfy as the older version.
I mounted mine Rottefella Super Telemark with cable. I bought that binding specifically to match the thinner duckbill of my Alaska 75 boot. When the binding arrived, I did not like the cartridge cable system. I’m glad I tried it. That cable is very stiff laterally. I am using my stiff Alico Ski March boots much less, with the ST cable the Alaska 75 and FT X, are a really nice combination.
I would really like for someone with a Rotte ST cable and soft boot to tell me that the Explore boot, even the beefy Alfa Free (I hope I got that right) is comparable in lateral stiffness as a system to that soft Alaska boot with the Rotte ST cable. If that were the case, I would switch to the Xplore system immediately. For now I have superb kick and glide w/o the cable. Tolerable kick and glide with the cable. However w/o the cable I believe I would have better performance with my Alaska BC boot.
Set up as mine are I am very pleased with this combination. I am super pleased with the Xplore ski. It was really a gamble, as was my purchase of my first FT. There were no reviews, just Asnes videos. I sold my first pair after skiing the new Xplore. I don’t think the new one will be sold, just used until the life is out of them.
