Excursion (the one with a thermo-moldable liner) fits both in 1st and 2d click with Rotte ST (white and purple vintage ST).

I bought a pair of Rottefella 75 mm bindings with cables last season. They *barely* fit my Alico Ski March duckbills (19mm, measured with a caliper) and do NOT fit my Alico double boots (20 mm duckbill). When I write "barely", I mean that it is so tight that I fear breaking the rivets or bending the metal or damaging the boots. I tried it with the binding unmounted, and it was so tight that it dissuaded me from mounting the binding.
I bought them despite seeing on the Rottefella website that the binding is "best paired with the thinner soles between 12 and 15 mm". For my bindings, that is definitely true.
I can’t comment on the 20mm problem, as I don’t have a duckbill of that thickness. However, I’m surprised at the “barely” with regard to the Ski March which you have measured at 19mm (same as mine). You correctly refer to the manufacturer’s indication “Rottefella 75 mm With Cable fits best with thinner soles between 12 and 15 mm”, however “fits best” does not mean incompatible with a thicker duckbill. A very snug fit, for sure (as with the Garmont Excursion), and there’s no way of going further down than the first ratchet, but I wouldn’t describe it as “barely” fitting.
I don’t know anything about your level of experience, so excuse me if the following question appears patronising: Are you sure that the pins are correctly engaged and that your heel is raised before pressing the clamp down on the ratchet? If your heel is flat on the ski/heelpiece the duckbill will be raised and you will have considerable difficulty locking the clamp on the ratchet. Look carefully, using a handlamp if necessary, to check that the duckbill is absolutely flat on the surface of the binding, with no visible gap. If you are fitting the boot to an unmounted binding, you will have to prop the heel up somewhat while closing the clamp.

That was pretty thoughtful @Jurassien I'm not sure if that is the problem, but like you I have no problem using my Ski March boots with Rotte ST

T4 fits the Rotte Supertele. Closes on the first detent. I can supply a photo if you want. Actually skis very nicely with or without cables.
The bindings were purchased with cables this season. I’ve skied them with the T4 on a Asnes FT62 and a Voile Objective.

My experience is different. I mounted some STs because they were 50% off. Ski marches didn't work, and remounted with Traverses. Didn't work means they only went to the first position and were floppy. The only reason to buy the STs now is because you want to use a thinner boot like Alaska, and the Ski Marches are probably the thickest.
So I have this pair of STs and was thinking maybe I'd throw them on some tele skis. Looked up the durability and saw pictures on TTalk of them broken. Excursions might work, but the bottom line is that the Voiles are made for modern boots and the STs are not.

Broken Rottefella st?? If it is not too much trouble, please post these pics of broken st's. I can break anything .I could break an anvil. But I can't break a rottefella st binding.
I have 2 sets of voile 3 pin cable and 2 sets of rottefella st (non cable). Both are fine bindings that fit my merrell ultras, asolo snowfield and garmont excursion boots well. Of these I prefer the Rottefellas. I do tend to grab the voile 3 pin cables on longer excursions due to the cable backup in case of bale failure, however I don't see that happening. That bring said, I am for the most part just a tourer and certainly not an aggressive downhiller.

Example of broken ST:

I have only tested my Asolo Extreme and wife's Excursion boots in our Super Telemark and found to be able to barely close the bale to the first click. The Voile looked better in shop, so I have assumed they are the best for thicker duckbills. We have not tried to use the thicker duckbill boots for skiing though.

That was a guy that weighed 290 lbs, skiing with a T-2.

Re: New Super Tele's and full thickness soles?
Yes, a heavyweight on T2 does not seem like a good match with Super Telemark. Rottefella earlier had a 3-pin binding called Telemark Extreme, that racers and others used with plastic 75mm boots. It looked quite a bit sturdier with less clearance/play. I would use a solid wire binding with T2, but that was not the theme of this thread.
I did not like the feel of a thick duckbill in Super Telemark just as John Dee; it felt as if I had to use more force than I preferred to get them to close to the first position and fit was not great. I thus did not try anymore and we have as stated not tried skiing with them. It might work fine from previous experiences described in this thread.
I have assumed that the Super Telemark toepiece has remained unchanged for a long time, but it almost sounds like there are different versions. I know there was white versions earlier, and I had one of them on a previous pair of skis, but construction and dimensions looked the same to me.
