I have found in the past when under pressure in steeps I tend to straighten my front leg and think this may be because my stance is off to start

Not having a quarter I used two dimes and a nickle and the rubbing together of the coins gave me a really bad blister. Also I would resist the urge to pick up any loose change you may come across on the hill.

His style doesn't seem aggressive. Not bad at all.

Nice ski conditions and, I agree, it looks like you're well on your way.
For me, when my front leg extends in the steeps, I am fighting the fall line rather than attacking it. Can't say what's going on with you 'cause I haven't seen it, but for me, I focus on angulating with hands forward and pointed down the fall line. You can practice on steeps by making one turn at a time.
