Man I don’t know about all these skis with peoples portraits on them. I think id start getting kinda creeped out after awhile having someone staring back at me while I was skiing. Then I’d start talking to them, give them a name, a backstory… maybe I’m just weird

Many years ago a ski company had a contest where you designed your own top sheet and if yours won they would make it. I came up with a bunch of my own designs. I wonder if I still have them laying around somewhere…

EDIT: Found them

I guess it was a G3/Backcountry Magazine contest... I wonder who ever ended up winning? It was back in 2015

and then there is the Asnes Gamme "Fabio". lol
AKA, "Pippin".
At 210cm, he has to be the tallest hobbit.

I think I like the older colorful portrait top sheets better, especially the red Amundsen.

Not going to get that ski though, since I already have a Sondre Nordheim and a Gamme, and if I get anything else in that class it would probably be something that will turn more easily in variable snow conditions, like the Børge Ousland.

Yep - the "Green Man" rocks....

I spent a year holding off buying some Gammes, hoping for a top-sheet re-design,
but then, I found a used pair of Green Man. So, all is good. ;-P

It's like this creepy ghost guy is staring and judging my telemark turns.

What is this you are wearing? Not wool. And these boots, they are something other than leather!

Absolutely. What do you know about their construction/materials? Are they good skis, or just beautiful works of art?
