Actually, skins do not give the same benefit.
Scales can seamlessly handle undulating terrain, with minor ups and downs, much more efficiently tha skins can.
Skin require tedious transitions to handle every minor upslope one comes to.
And then putting up with reduced glide on the following down slope or another transition from skins to no skins.
Scales do all of that seamlessly, saving the skins for steeper terrain.

Kicker skins give the same benefits and are way faster on the down and gliding.
BD Helio 76's or 88's?
The Objectives are nice too.
Most of our local terrain favors scales. I have two nice/newer sets of non-scaled skis and I rarely end up using them. Always reach for the scales unless it's refrozen and cloudy. And then I reach for the fatbike because the skiing sucks regardless of which skis!

I call "FOUL". Way to wide and way to short....You want to cruise the BC then get something that cruises and learn to ski them....Teleman

At least they're sincere!Josefabeatty wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 6:05 amI am sincerely surprised that people do not know what to do with themselves in their free time. There is an excellent online casino...for real money, which I have been using for a long time and it has never let me down. Therefore, you can safely start playing.

Your skiing adventures sound epic! It's great that you're willing to spend money on gear that'll keep you shredding pow and exploring new terrain. When it comes to skis, it's all about finding the right fit for your style and the conditions you'll be skiing in. As for recommendations, have you checked out the Dynafit Meteorite? They come in lengths from 159-171 and have a 77mm underfoot width, making them a bit narrower than your current options. They also have a decent amount of rocker in the tip for soft snow, but camber underfoot for stability. You can also check out bingo cash review for making more money online. It's a cool way to easily make some more money.

Never heard of them. Do they have scales?

Re: Spend my money!
@mikesee , is your Idaho winter anything like our Utah winter? It’s supposed to warm up this week but we should have ample snow to keep touring the high country until July at least!
I’m really interested in your touring approach. Like with you, alpine and XC skiers keep recommending skis that are long for my skill set and touring needs. (FWIW, I’m about 170lbs and generally daytour with a 10-20 lb pack.) I like dense forest and narrow trails and really, at 174cm, most of my quiver is still too long. I may pick up a pair of Objective BC skies in the 160-170 range. I’m interested in fitting them with Xplore bindings and using Alpina Pioneer Pro boots. Both can be found on sale right now!

Not sure which part of Utah you're in. We're at 3600' and we get very dense snow that forms crusts pretty quick.
When we drive elsewhere to ski we go higher, to less dense snow that ideally has no crust at all.
Can't speak to that boot/binding combo, but the Objectives and V6's I spend most of my time on are really, really sweet skis. I *might* be able to push around 171's, but I have no reason to try -- I love the 163's I already own.
