Can anyone else chime in with a list of other vintage edgeless non-Åsnes BC-ish skis I should be looking at? Or new ones too, but doesn't seem like much!

Re: Finmark Alternative (Skis without Metal Edge)
For whatever reason Madshus dropped their kicker skin and wax base from their backcountry skis wider than I think the M55. Some didn't trust their kicker skin attachment design, but I have had good results with it .mca80 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 8:30 amOnly in waxless?wabene wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 4:31 amThe MADSHUS PANORAMA SF 62 SKIS just came out. Damn. I don't understand this trend to eliminate waxing.
Re: Finmark Alternative (Skis without Metal Edge)
No such thing as a waxless ski. That’s just a term that is misused and misunderstood.
Even a ski with scales needs to be be waxed. Glide wax on the glide zones and liquid glide on the scaled grip zones if the snow isn’t cold and dry. (Maybe even a bit of grip wax on a small portion ahead of the scales if conditions require it, but this is rare for a proper ski* being used by an experienced skier.)
Prevents all kinds of things, such as stiction and icing.
* “Proper ski” being one of suitable dimensions for skier weight and intended purpose.
