Lots of good ideas here folks, much appreciated. About 5 or 6 years ago I switched to heavy telemark (tx pros, outlaws, and dps wailer 99s) from pure alpine when I got bored and wanted a new challenge. The folks at the shop recommended I ride tele on the same type of skis I enjoy skiing alpine, but then helped me dial in the length and binding placement for tele. Well, I tend to like an all mountain ski because I can make them work well enough anywhere. DPS wailer 99s are my jam on NTN and alpine. Hands down my all time favorite ski for the down. The alchemist version works well enough in Tahoe BC for the up - the carbon fiber saves some weight
The talk of the transnordics being able to drive a mid 80 mm ski got me thinking about a narrow all mountain type alpine ski. Something like a Salomon qst 85. I wonder if that would work with transnordics and nnn-bc? I guess this is trending away from Norpine as it’s not a light xc ski, so probably more xcD. I wonder if something like that (or even narrower if I could find it) would work. I’m sure it’d get a lot of looks like WTF is that bastardized monstrosity?!?!
The Asnes Nosi has an all mountain shape at 76mm under foot. It’d be better than the qst I bet.

Voile Objective would be good too with this. Light, deeply rockered.
In narrower skis, as in: Ingstad vs. M62. I have the M62 Intelligrip-- I have not skied it yet, but it is significantly heavier, and with a smooth round alpine flex. It probably sucks for kick-and-glide on the flats but it probably makes for a sweet downhill rig. The Ingstad is easy to turn thanks to its rocker but it retains some K&G attributes underfoot. Turning is more about schmearing and less about bending the ski. It is also much lighter so will get thrown more than the M62. Positives and Negatives for each.
