@lilcliffy, regarding size, all I can say is that I am under the impression both Andrew and Crispi contemporary EU sizing are "standard", on par.

My feet are 26.3cm, wide toe box and I'd go with a size 42 for both. I love my Sydpolens.

The Crispi last is usually narrower than Andrews'.

@phoenix, I think you would be surprised to discover the Crispi Bre is not as stiff as you think:

Thinking about biting the bullet and ordering these:
https://www.fjellsport.no/crispi-fjells ... l?q=crispi

Thoughts?

Gareth, you mentioned Fjellsport.no
I emailed them and just got a reply saying they do not ship outside of Norway.
Have you heard something different?

I have a pair of FT62s on special order from US retailer that were supposed to show up now, but have been delayed until December. I don't know why.
Pretty bummed -- was looking for other options, and hoping Fjellsport.no might work, but it looks like not.
Sportalbert is an expensive option, with the high shipping cost.
And, it looks like they do not have a full selection of sizes right now, so may not have this year's skis?

If you hear something different on Fjellsport, let me know.
Maybe they have more love for Canadians that Americans* at this time!

I just received a message back from their customer service folks as I was looking at getting a pair of skis from them:

"Unfortunately, we do not ship to Canada. We only ship within Norway. Sorry about that!"

Thanks man!
(Wow that tundra-mountain photo on the Varuste homepage is breath-takingly beautiful!)

Varuste doesn't stock any 3-pin boots!?

Their prices in general are excellent!
(Wish they stocked waxable Asnes and Metsa skis...)
.................................
Confirmation from Fjellski-
They do not ship outside Norway.

>>What is your personal favourite- the Antarctic vs Rifugio?

that's a difficult question - very nice workmanship on both of these. I would have to say Andrew is in a class by themselves, the leather itself is incredible, very thick and plush-feeling. Conforms to your feet faster & better.

But the biggest difference isn't quality, the boots are slightly different design. The Antarctic are lighter-duty - lighter in weight and stiffness. Rifugio is better for tele turns and Antarctic better for XC skiing, although they both work for either one. Antarctics feel a little more like shoes while you can feel the extra stiffness & support in the ankle on the Rifugio.

The Rifugio and Zenith are also a higher-volume fit - wider with more room for thick socks and footbeds. Antarctic are a fairly narrow last - I had to order a size up and use a stretcher to get enough room in the toe box. That's the reason I gave my Antarctics to a friend and just use Andrew now.
