I think touring for turns has been referred to XCD since shortly after Barnetts? book came out in the late 80s. This is one of the main secrets of the XCD doctrine...

I was skiing in the late 80s. Everyone referred to it as "telemark". Are you dickless?lowangle al wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 4:39 pmI think touring for turns has been referred to XCD since shortly after Barnetts? book came out in the late 80s. I used to call it telemark too, time passed and things changed. If you can't get over that I hope that at least you can get over your sexual hangups.

I prefer to troll in my canoe. My favorite catch is king salmon. The rivers aren’t frozen currently I’m thinking about a little steelhead trolling. I think it would be more fun than trying to aggravate people.
We have a great group here. We like each other. I also think we have members that post on a pretty broad range of subjects.
Peace
Re: Nnnbc magnum bindings on wide skis???
In the thread "Guide / Annum + NNN BC?" I asked about switching my 78mm waisted skis to Magnum NNN BC from 75mm Switchbacks.
Skiing the new Guide + Magnum with big Alpina Alaska boots, I've found they work well in softer snow where the skis can get up on a plane and slither around in that liquid-like medium. As Johnny and Al suggest, you just have to stay over you skis and enjoy the ride.
On harder snow and steeper terrain, the more you have to edge, the more I've found that a wider ski is challenging/limiting with the NNN BC system. It's more of a struggle with the lateral and torsional forces on the boot/binding.
I'm feeling like the 78mm waisted ski is getting to the upper end of what NNN BC is optimized for.
I'm curious about what you find.

Lighten up, Francis. I'm not trying to aggravate anyone. Just because social media is so easy and fun to lampoon, doesn't mean that people that do it, do it with any malice.fisheater wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 9:14 amI prefer to troll in my canoe. Hey Lo-Fi-
Do you think this is a limit of the binding or a limit of the boot?
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.
