Has anyone tried glue and a strategically placed T-nut or two?

The cobbler in Concord, NH says he wont touch it. He has tried to repair lots of this type of failure in the past and the boots come back more often than not so he only tries when the industry sells him a new wunderglue every few years.

Alaska XP owner as well here. Same failure as you. They haven’t fully separated like yours but I’m guessing one or two more outings and I’ll be there. Checking with Alpina about warranty…
Have you heard back from Alpina? My 3 year old boots and what I’ve read from others has me not optimistic about that route, though I’m going to contact them now.

Once I get the anticipate NO from Alpina this sounds like a good idea! Skiing SNS BC for the rest of the season I guess…..

Going back to your original post and the third photo in that post, I have two questions:

1) Does the central part of the upper-construction (the pink-coloured part) make direct contact with the ribs on the sole or is there a definite void between the two parts in that area?
2) Is the grey material a piece of felt (or felt-like material) which is loose and is not/was not bonded to either surface?

1. It looks like that part makes contact with but was not glued to the sole.

2. The grey is solidly attached to the upper.

I have actually returned these to be warrantied. Ragged MTN Equipment in NH, where I bought them (and who still have a decent stock of Asnes skis 35% off right now), contacted Alpina and they are going to do it. I’ll update when I actually have new boots in hand.

My wife and I have had 2 prs of Alaska xp soles delaminate.

Mine were some of the first boots to hit the states, after maybe 12 days light use I could see that both soles were delaminating in a minor way. Boots were replaced under warranty and I’ve skied about 200 miles on the new boot without issue (yet)

My wife bought her boots in 2022 and after about 200 miles of use one sole delaminated at the toe similar to the image in this thread

Send them to Steve Komito at Komito Boots in Estes Park- they will come back good as new.
