Being from Kalamazoo, I like the Bell's suggestion.
But, I am on a budget. I am going to try this one tonight:

Re: Am I really in Duluth?
First day not on the rockiest of rock skis, my Rossi 65 fischschales. Today I stepped up to leaf skis, Asnes Sondre with Voile 3p sans cable and old Crispi Mountains. Not sure if it was the 1.5 inches new snow or going from a poor fishscale to a waxable base but I was flying around those trails. Very fun, kinda neat ski, very easy and will make a good early season trail ski or throw the cable on to try early season dh on green runs in a real old school telemark setup.

Re: Am I really in Duluth?
We’re finally getting some solid snow in SE WI. I’m very stoked to have the big cold coming in behind it. Hoping to do more BC skiing through the wooded trails along the river and working some tele turns into the mix. Looks like we should have a good base, and maybe some pond hockey too.
First post! New to telemark this winter (loving it so far). Hoping for big snow for all my fellow midwesterners and looking forward to meeting folks up at Midwest Telefest in February.

It’s white down here in the Land of the Trolls (we live under the bridge) too!

Re: Am I really in Duluth?
I would hardly say "nailed," except in select locations, although I definitely welcome whatever we are finally getting--hard to believe it took till mid Jan for winter to start. The forecast for areas near Superior, like Porkies and Houghton and the Keweenaw is pretty serious, snow every single day and lots of it. My location inland had only a few inches the past 3 or 4 days, we should get 7 to 8 tomorrow and Saturday but then hardly any thereafter in the forecast, and some daily maximums around 0F, hopefully with limited wind. An hour west-southwest of me has very little base and little in the forecast.
@fisheater you guys may have gotten more snow than me so far, lol. There's been more snow in Madison than Minocqua so far this season I believe, very bizarre.

Yep more snow in Chicago than Duluth. C'mon now those people down there don't even have skis,
@mca80 yeah I don't know exactly where you are, but I'll bet your not far from some serious dumps!

Oh within an hour drive I can reach some deep snow. Just not enough at my property to take good skis out through the woods, downed branches and rocks and whatnot.

Second outing after the golf course, this time single track on public land. My poor Country Crowns, the dreaded zzzzzz of destruction. Gads, this is what a rock ski looks like. Still fun.
