Rossi Experience 98 in powder??

Post by Ant01ne » Tue Mar 10, 2015 7:05 pm

Did anyone use the 98 for powder runs?
I did ride the 84 a lot with alpine bindings, and the 83 with tele bindings. Resort only since I work there, but I think the real fun is to go skinning places to find fresh snow anyways.

I've seen the 98 on sale and find them very attractive.

They sell it as an all mountain ski.. What are your thoughts? The tip doesn't go very high.. Is it gonna dig in the fresh stuff? Or a 2cm setback (like lots of ppl suggest) would help stay on top?

Personally the 84/83 are my resort's first choice (..next to the REV90) for carving and high speed stability.
But I mostly go outbounds when I'm off..

Thanks!

P.s.: kinda broke and can't afford multiple pairs of skis.. prefer pleasure in pow while still being able to have fun on corduroy..

The 98 is a charger, and a pretty heavy ski. It would be a DISTANT choice for anything beyond chopped mank.
