So from 1253 to 1905 with the exception of a few months in 1814 there were no such people as Norwegians? @randoskier has a very modern, limited, and totally silly definition of race that is contrary to thousands and thousands of years of the term. By his logic Ukrainians as a people have only existed since 1991. Prior to that there were no such people.
P.S. I use linux, not always with a GUI.
My closest Norwegian friend is Sami. He is from the Norwegian race? Really?
You are right that I use a modern definition of race, I do not use the 1930s-1940s German definition of race. Norwegian is an ethnicity not a race in one meaning, and a nationality in its other, it is certainly not a race and it never has been.
Re: Unix ...COOL!
No, I wouldn't call him Norwegian at all, just Sami, who lives under the government of Norway in some manner.
It isn't just Nazi definition dude. Read through ancient texts, medieval texts, any number of texts prior to modern neoliberalism. Race is more akin to ethnicity than anything. In fact, maybe you can explain the difference for my feeble brain?
No use talking about stitched welts. The soles of both boots of the first post that broke are all- rubber affairs made by Vibram, pretty sure the same thing on different boots. I have some too on Fischer BCX 675 boots, all the same swoops and grooves, very bendy rubbery no doubt can break. I don’t know how to glue back together. Ask Vibram?
Also, America makes the greatest ski bindings ever. Go USA!

The Nazis used medieval texts, and ancient texts to develop their filthy version of white supremacism.
Race refers to the concept of dividing people into groups on the basis of various sets of physical characteristics and the process of ascribing social meaning to those groups. Ethnicity describes the culture of people in a given geographic region, including their language, heritage, religion and customs.
There is no such thing as the "Norwegian Race" of people. The only Norwegian man that I have heard espouse this idea is in prison for shooting 69 children dead at a summer camp for the children of "neo liberals".
A little update if anyone ever fall on this thread looking for answers for a similar problem.
My boot repair did not hold up, without much surprise. I tried to put epoxy glue, a bit of metal wire through the sole of the boot and hockey tape. I wish better fortune to anyone who would ever try a similar repair!
I picked up a used pair of Rossignol BCX2 (nnnbc) boots last fall. First time out this winter, complete sole separation on one boot. Glued it, went out again, same thing with the other boot. Glued the second boot, and so far I've had 20-25 days on them including 5 or 6 slogging through wet powder with no issues.
I used Gorilla Glue, stuffed them with newspaper so I could clamp them tightly, and let them cure for 2 or 3 days without touching them. One key factor that applies to gluing pretty much anything is to fully separate the two surfaces so you can glue the whole layer at once, just squirting a bit of glue where it's starting to separate never seems to work.
Still I probably will never take this boots more than a few miles from the trail head, I'd just buy new boots if wanted to venture into true backcountry.
