A bit older, but this was helpful for me: I found Bonna 1800s, and Åsnes Tur-Langren.

"Winters coming and a set of Rossignol Randonnee's popped up on my radar. I see they made "DAVE'S NORDIC BACKCOUNTRY SKIING PAGE" as "Traditional Touring Ski's". Anyone here remember these? I ended up with a bunch of edged skis to play with but I don't have any wax-less yet. Are they worth picking up?"

I do remember them, but never skied 'em. I also recall being very tempted to go for a pair. I'd describe them more as a backcountry touring ski than a classic ski. Personally, I'd be more inclined to go for the Rossi's than the old E99's.

Best selling of all time the E99......Read that about a decade back and they just keep on selling under a new name....Have a set of 215 high tipped Europa's....use them on special occasions and a set of 205's that really slice.......Get a kick out of how they respond to turning....Put them on edge and they come around on their time....Makes for a thrilling ride....Expect to ski them in a few weeks....er.....hope to ski them soon!!!!! Rossignol randonee - don't do it. I remember selling those in the shop I worked in back in the early 80's. Or trying to sell them. And failing.

Last year I did a backcountry ski trip with the help of fresh adventures (https://www.freshadventures.com/winter- ... s-packages ) on vintage skis. My skis were from the seventies. They were the best choice for me. My skis were Fischer Europa 99. They were as light as the best skis today. They were very fast. They had a great glide. The best thing is they were very stable. I was very impressed. I felt sure on the ice. I felt sure on the rocks. They were very precise. I fell in love with my skis. I'm now a vintage skier. If you're interested in collecting vintage skis, start with either a pair of Head Magnums or Elan Peaks. Both have a really classic feel to them.
