Rottefella Xplore availability

Post by TeleMarcin » Tue Dec 07, 2021 7:44 am

I am struggling to find the xplore bindings. I have bought Asnes FT62 skis and I have preordered Alfa Free boots directly from Alfa in Norway. Now I am looking forward to buy the xplore bindings but it seems that they are not available anywhere in Europe apart from Norway. I have wrote to 2 Norwegian online ski shops, but they refused to send the bindings out of Norway. Sport Albert and Aventure Nordique seems to wait for delievery from Rottefella. Local distributor in Poland, confirmed that they are not able to sell me the bindings, as they were told by Rottefella that there is a limited quantity in this season

This worries me, as I hoped to become an early adopter :D but now It my happen in worst case scenario, that I would be an early adopter with skis and boots without the bindings

Can we please use this thread to alert ourselves where, the bindings would become available ( I am interested mostly in European www merchants)

All the best and greetings from Poland, Marcin

I bet Tom M would know. He's been pretty dialed in on this stuff.

I'm in the same boat as @TeleMarcin. I have a new set of 98's that I plan to mount with the Xplore and have preordered a set of boots from Alfa, but can't find a source for the binding. I've tried to communicate with REI but the only response I have received is that they will "check on it". Alfa is bundling boots / skis / bindings as a "ski package" https://www.alfaoutdoor.com/apps/bundles/bundle/90108 but I have yet to find a source for just the binding. I just sent an email to Alfa asking if they would be willing to bundle the boots with just a binding. I'll post back here if/when they respond.

As a side note, Alfa sent out this email this morning
"From: Alfa Sko - International

The Xplore mountain ski products are getting ready for shipment. We will send out the products as soon as they arrive from the factories and you will be among the very first to receive these products. We hope to have all pre-orders shipped out by the start of next week.
We hope you will be pleased!"

If so, things are looking up and if Alfa is ready to ship I hope that Alpina is not far behind.

Also for those of you in the US, here is the link to my REI querry. It might get REI's attention if more people would log on and let REI know they are also interested . https://www.rei.com/conversations/ask-a ... 807#M11250

@TeleMarcin Hi Marcin, I am also from Poland I had the same situation with biding availability but I found workaround, fjellsport.no have available Xplore binding and boots at really good price, lucky me a have friend in Norway so I order to his address and his going sent this package to Poland. My advice is to look at outnorth.com as this is same owner as fjellsport.no so I think they should soon update their international site with Xplore stuff.

I went through and created a package. Skis + Boots + Bindings was over $1,200.
I guess that’s 60% less than what an NTN, plastic boot, Voile setup would cost, but still…

They priced the bindings at €229,00, or about $260.
No need to get into a debate or explanations about the price.
I’ll probably hold off and see if prices adjust once production ramps and initial demand is met.

It looks like @KnoxPolk might be on to something, although when I went there I didn’t get the same discounts he saw.

@Stephen You need to use coupon code “GAVE” it will lower 25% of retail price for non discounted items, It didn’t work for the falketind poles in my basket as they where already discounted.

I'd love to know when it becomes available in the US as well! Especially if it's on REI. I love that, from the reviews, it seems to offer at least as much control as 75mm, with the kick and glide benefits added.

I noticed the package deals (boots, bindings, skis) don't seem to offer any waxless ski models, unless I mis-read.

Here is the email I received this morning from Alfa

Hi Tom,
The Xplore bindings will be available in the webshop next week. Please place another order and they will be sent by DHL express and will reach you within 2-3 working days.
Best regards
ALFA

I’m really looking forward to testing out Alfa’s boot this winter but I have been unable to locate a source for the Xplore binding. Would it be possible to purchase the binding from you and have it shipped with the boots that I've preordered?

Ladies and gentlemen, the XPLORE bindings have left the factory!
They are en route to Rottefella USA and should hit North American stores within two weeks.

Yep, ALFA boots will start shipping worldwide next week, and yes, they will also be available at REI...!!! 8-)

Does Alpha still make a 75mm boot?
