We went on a four-night cabin trip in the Reisa National Park for Easter, and for the last two days it snowed and it was fantastic. The last time we were in this part of the world at this time of year, it was -12°C and snowed every night... it's been a pretty catastrophic year snow-wise, but this was wonderful even so. The river was still frozen. Largely. We had to turn back because there was finally a channel we couldn't cross and the bank was too steep and wooded to be fun carrying everything (I wish I had pictures of the 'It'll be all right, we can stand on this' section that was severely not all right.) It's one of the most beautiful places I've seen in my life.
A gigantic river valley, proper bergs on either side with lovely fresh snow on top and elbow-breaky iced trails for the first couple of hundred metres.
When we got back home it was snowing. And we've had a proper dump of snow! Blue skies and temperatures of -4°C today! It's supposed to do this but this year it feels like a bonus dump.
We went alongside those reindeer tracks on the right up between the little mountains in the bg, really slowly and easily, and had a turn competition on the way down.
I think we have a couple more days left of this below 400m and much more than that a little higher.
