NEPTUNE
Friends,
Neptune employees may have been traumatized. The recent ordeal with the grocery in Boulder is just behind Neptune. Some photos show Neptune's store sign, which is in the back of the complex. Many people are hurting.
Neptune is where many Americans turn to for Asnes skis. It's one of My favorite shops in Boulder. I don't quite know why I'm posting this. Thought people may be interested. Maybe reach out to the shop. I don't know. I've been in that grocer. That liquor store next door. To anyone who's acquired skies from Neptune, this is close to Heart. I just want to say something.

Re: NEPTUNE
I'm glad you posted--Neptune was immediately in my thoughts when I saw this terrible news. I've been a customer at Neptune's since I was a young teenager--mainly as a climber. It's funny because I've only recently gotten seriously into skiing, and lo & behold, Neptune's influence wore off on me, because I'm obsessed with 3 pin telemark "XCD" skiing...I'm kicking myself for not paying more attention to all those pinhead skiers at Neptune a bit more when I had the chance! I don't live in Colorado anymore, and I really miss Neptune--so much to learn from Gary's museum!
I commend you, GCW, for expressing care.

Pretty much exactly the words I was looking for yesterday, but couldn’t find, so +1 to what @Struckski said.
I hope it’s appropriate that I have sent a link to Neptune for this thread.
Neptune has always treated me well in my transactions with them, and so it seems especially appropriate to express care and concern for the people of Neptune as well as the entity of Neptune Mountaineering.

Re: NEPTUNE
“Hello Stephen,
Thank you so much for thinking to pass this along. As you can imagine, all of our hearts are breaking for the King Sooper’s staff, patrons, Officer Talley and their family and friends who are suffering deeply and grappling with such a senseless act of depravity. Our employees on that day endured several hours of lockdown - stressful and traumatizing - but they are all safe. We feel so fortunate that none of them was there on their lunch break or picking up supplies for the store, as they do on a nearly daily basis. The other thing we are so grateful for is the outpouring of love and concern from the Neptune community of customers, like you and those on the Telemark Talk forum. I am hopeful that the sense of community we are all feeling will be a healing balm.
Please pass along our gratitude and we hope to see you in the store someday soon.
With warm regards,
Shelley”

Thank you for posting this. I did not realize the proximity. Thank you Neptune Mountaineering for having played a role in some of my most joyful days in the backcountry in winter. You and your community are in my heart and mind.
