Re: Tele vs parallel.
When carving open groomers I like to switch between turns a lot. It's just fun. I really the sensation of going from a parallel turn into to t-turn because you don't really have to lead change, feels very smooth.. If I'm really focused on skiing something I'll try to stick to just t-turns though Als...

Re: Light plastic telemark boot
The bellow'd F1/f3 are around 1300g IIRC 3buckle NTN tx is around 1500, could shave 1-150 with some mods maybe. I would imagine Having bellows (and bellow guards), a duck butt, and needing to use pebax plastic probably keeps them from getting to the 1kilo range 1300ish gram boot like a tele-optimize...

Re: NTN Binding
If you're on the rid-stiff cartridges I bet you'd like the NTN feel. Defintely Demo some gear if you can. Scarpa NTN boots are significantly more spacious than their 75mm counterparts. The heel pocket might be tighter but the rest is definitely more voluminous but I've never tried Scott or Garmont o...

Re: Just throwing this out there...
I think it's really cool!!
The course layouts kind of remind me of mtb dual slalom, 4x. Do they still do that?
The banked turn and skate are a welcome addition ti the pretty basic dh race format IMO.
A series of banked turns and a longer skate section would be even more interesting....imo

Re: Challenging spring snow/base structuring at home
No i use a nylon brush for the post wax scrub. I hit the bases with sandpaper pre-wax to add some base structure. 1 scrubbing pass and a few full length ones is all I do. Not tryna take any thickness out of em, just enough to rough em up and knock any high spots down

Re: 78 Traverse / 88 Excursion which one? Or another?
I am quite sure the alpina BC skis are internally one of their old alpine skis with a scaled base on the bottom. They're quite stiff and heavy but great trail and corn skis imo. Ive skied mine close to death (bases and scales are real beat up)I will probably grab another pair in the longest length A...
