Re: Rotofella NTN Small Size Functionality Issue
Hi Lakeplacidtele, TL;DR: I just went to the shop and operated the pink-tabbed scissor lever on all four of the NTN Freedom pairs I maintain. They all were able to be pushed down with the thumb without too much pressure, but these bindings are all dry and clean at the moment. As it's pushed down, the...

Re: BD Riva Z cable length. Adjustable? Different lengths?
There was another way to shorten the cable for Riva 2 that I assume would work with a Riva Z. A fitting mounted forward of the toe-piece on most demo skis back when Riva 2 was pretty standard. It had two or three grooves for the cable ahead of the toe-piece. Were these ever offered/available outside...

Re: Neutral vs. Active Bindings
VT that sounds like a good balanced set up. I would like the try the Vector BCs. I'm in the neutral binding camp, generally, but it's mostly history and habituation for me. I remember back in the early N.A. tele days (as far back as late 70s for me) when boots were floppy and there wasn't much to ma...

Re: How wrong is my ski/binding/boot setup
Hi phoenix. Thanks for the response. It feels strange, but the whole free heel feel is a little strange to me still. It is hard to know what is 'right'. The rocker launch doesn't really bother me. It actually feels good to have a little spring from the heel when I am striding on flat ground. If I a...

Re: How long a telemark ski
Since you're an experienced alpine skier, and since you're looking at modern era tele skis that can be sized just like alpine skis, I suggest for learning tele, you use a very similar size ski to your favorite alpine skis (length, width, liveliness, etc.). For an intermediate (at least) alpine skier w...

Re: Rottefella Freedom powerbox large vs. small?
I’ve been riding Freedom and Freeride size large bindings with Garmont Prophet 26.0 boots for the last 6 years. I just bought Scarpa TX 26.0 boots, before realizing they use the small version of the binding. Do I have to swap the entire binding now? For Freedom bindings, I think you do need to get ...

Re: The Ultimate XCD Boot: The new Alpina Watermelon DOUBLE!
Those morrow-like liners are pretty much extinct. I suggest you invest in the Pro-Tour and cut of excess if required but I would argue that extral length up top is not a hindrance... How do you seal up the liner again after you cut off the excess? Do you put anything over the molded cut-off top edg...

Re: The Ultimate XCD Boot: The new Alpina Watermelon DOUBLE!
Good leads on low thermo liners, thanks. Of those mentioned, any ideas on which is the thinnest thermo liner you can buy? I have a pair of Rossi BCX-12 that are a size large for me. I'm taking up the space with extra inner-soles but it would be great to do a thinner version of this double-boot hack....

Re: mounting tele bindings on a race plate?
Thanks Johnny and Tom for the views on the plan. ...That is one cool thing about the Freeride vs the Freedom, with the adjustable mounting plates, you can sometimes cheat a bit when screw holes are about the same or the ski is not flat under the plates... That is a good thing about the Freeride. I u...

Where do you get the low cut thermo liners?
(I've been looking for a thermo liner for T4s but only find the taller thermos).
