Åsnes Finnmark 54bc waxless
I bought these skis to teach my 10months old hunting labrador to ski. Just tried them out. Conditions: Well below freezing, 10-15 inches of powder. Fire road with altitude changes but nothing real steep. Only a couple of k (dog got tired). No leash om dog. No wax available in the cabin today so i we...

Re: HyperV6 + NNNBC- crazy idea?
Do it with a lurk altai style so you can dig the heels in when necessary. Cant see why it would not work with a 1,73 ski.

Re: Åsnes Finnmark 54bc
Sounds like the dog ski to get! Do you guys att Åsnes reckon I could go 10cm longer than the green gammes due to the softer tip and more effective rocker? I have 200cm in the gammes at 75kg/185cms. I find this nice and managable but there is always the little whisper in my head I should have gone lo...

Åsnes Finnmark 54bc
Hi!
We have a dog joining the family this spring if nothing unfortunate happens. This means a dog ski might be necessary shortly. Does anybody have experience with the Finnmark? Is it a Gamme without edges?
All the best
Petter

Re: Same skin for two sets of skis?
For climbing non-complicated terrain I like to zig-zag alot to save achillestendons and overall energy. Generally you can keep a high pace so I dont think you lose much actual speed compared to going straight up. This is possible with a kicker skin or even just kick wax. Att least for reddish slopes.

Re: XCD - the past and future of skiing?
I totally agree on the longboard parable as I also surf and live in Sweden where the surf is always small. There is so much fun to be had in the backyard if you know how to look! Today for example we had a moderate onshore wind magically producing surfable conditions in our local lake using the XCd ...

Re: XCD - the past and future of skiing?
I agree xcd is the future. We are discussing closing the lifts even in super liberal Sweden whereas of course no one can, or should, stop lonely xcding. I have also come across a few people when Im ranting religiosly on the glory of narrow skis with Nnn-BC bindings who come from a genuine alpine bac...

Re: Åsnes Borge Ousland BC Ski Review
Hard to say without trying. I know I like the camber of the 200cm Gamme. I think it climbs effortlessly and feels very manageble. However, I would use the Ousland primarily for longer trips meaning gear and luggage increasing my effective weight to at least 90kg from maybe 80-85 kg for a leisuretrip...

Re: Åsnes Borge Ousland BC Ski Review
Johnny, I read your post on the Ousland being smother than the Gammes but could you delve into a comparison between Gamme 200cm and Ousland 210. Would a longer Ousland turn (or arc...) like a shorter Gamme? I come from a 2m Gamme but would like to try a longer ski for next season. Weight 75kg, lengt...
