Re: Which bindings: Asnes MR 48

I have a couple robust NNN BC boots, including Alaska, but the pair I like most for my green (wax) MR48 skis (and skis with similar dimensions and intent) is the Alpina Traverse. They are discontinued but maybe some old stock online? The current Alpina Outlander looks very similar. For me, it's the ...

Ok, so here are some Kazama High Country 205 cms
These look good. I remain super curious about the MR46, but bought the MR48 instead to be safe. Do the Kazama High Country's have metal edges?

Photos?

Re: NNN-BC choice: when are Magnums a real advantage?

Earlier generation NNN BC manuals were thinner, likely lighter, and probably not as robust as current models. But, they work well for more XCd applications. Here are some older NNN BC I mounted on my 48 mm waist MR 48. Magnums on my Ingstads for comparison. They go together like peanut butter and je...

Re: NNN-BC choice: when are Magnums a real advantage?

Thanks to you both. Magnums for my Gammes then. My other cheap option is worse: put the Magnums on my Nordic tour skates, NNN BC automatics on my Gammes. I use magnums on my Lundhag nordic skates because I can use all the support I can get! I think (but don't know) that it is common io use magnums ...

Re: NNN-BC choice: when are Magnums a real advantage?

The autos get a bad rap on this forum. I doubt Rotefella would have such a market for them for all these years if they were truely crap. In Canada, it seems most retailers I have encountered sell only magnums or autos, not so much manuals, which is peculiar to me. I would think if folks complained a...

Re: NNN-BC Red Flexors

Interesting. They're for Nordic tour skating, aren't they? At least that's why I got a pair to put in the NNN BC bindings on mine. That was spring, so I haven't skated them yet. Found them here. https://www.akers-ski.com/product/32NF.html Yes, I have stiff red flexors in magnums on my lundhag nordi...

what do you recommend for the Laurentians in that case? Waxless or waxable
I'd suggest waxable plus easy skin (whatever that is in Fischer lingo) as providing the most flexibility in an xcd/bc ski for your area. You can adjust accordingly to the snow conditions and terrain. YMMV.

Re: Does Fischer Transnordic 66 + 82 make sense?

Hi. I've not looked at the responses you've had so far, so maybe this has been mentioned already. I too would be seriously focusing on the Fischer Transnordic series (old e89/e99/e109) if I didn't take another path already. This series has a strong appeal for the skiing I enjoy. I had done a fair am...
